Petroleum Oil 90% EC
General Introduction
“NutriTech® Emulsifiable Petroleum Oil 90% EC” is an insecticide and acaricide with ovicidal and contact herbicidal effects, used for pre-spring, spring and summer control of scale insects and some mites.
“NutriTech® Emulsifiable Petroleum Oil 90% EC” is one of the most commonly used oils to enhance the effectiveness of pest control. It is one of the primary solutions for controlling and reducing damage caused by pests such as scale insects, mites, etc., in trees. This oil creats a protective layer and blocks the respiratory openings of pests;so, effectively eliminats the target pests. To achieve optimal results, all parts of the plant should be covered with the solution.
Another application of this oil is in assisting the dormancy of fruit trees, (pistachio trees). The changes in weather conditions in recent years and the lack of chilling requirement for trees have delayed their dormancy in such areas. This delay, in addition to late bud break, causes issues such as uneven shoot growth, short branching, and the shortening of internode lengths.
Using the Petroleum Oil in late winter can break the dormancy of the buds in suitable time and accelerate tree awakening, which in turn improves overall tree performance. One of the advantages of Petroleum Oil 90% EC, compared to other insecticides, is its low toxicity to humans, making it safe for humans. Additionally, this oil is not toxic to birds and some beneficial insects.
“NutriTech® Emulsifiable Petroleum Oil 90% EC” whose active ingredient is paraffin, is highly efficient and durable. It is a suitable formulation for reducing environmental pollution, and it can be used alone or in combination with pest control treatments in winter to help manage various pests mentioned earlier in trees (citrus, Olive, pistachio, etc.).
