General Introduction
“ Nutritech Bordeaux Mixture ” 20% suspension is one of the most important inorganic fungicides with contact- protective effect. This compound is registered on various plant diseases and provides long-term protection for plants. Bordeaux mixture has several mode of actions, by creating new chemical bonds in target organism, namely it breaks down proteins, disrupts the enzymes’ function, disrupts vital cell processes such as respiration, and reduces the activity of cell membranes, so eventually, it leads to the pathogen death. The combination of mentioned features lowers the resistance probability of pathogens to this mixture.
Technical Introduction
Content | |
Neutralized copper sulfate | 20% w/w |
“Bordeaux mixture” accumulates in sensitive funguses easily by gradually releasing copper ions (Cu2+). This cation is complexed with enzymes which have sulfhydryl, hydroxyl, amino or carboxyl groups and inactivates them. Finally, it disrupts pathogen metabolism.
